Adobe has decided to launch a new tool for Apple tablet users, with plans for other devices in the future. This new addition to Adobe’s product family, called Adobe Fresco, will be especially focused on creative minds who spend their time drawing on the iPad using the Apple Pencil. I’ll tell you all the details available so far in this Adobe Fresco Review.
Adobe + Apple = ❤️
Less than a year ago, the well-known leader in software dedicated to design and editing announced the arrival of new products to the Apple App Store, all thanks to the power offered by the new equipment and the arrival of the Apple Pencil, a product that marks a before and after in the usability and versatility of the iPad, so Adobe wants to take full advantage of the new market opportunity that these devices have brought.
From Gemini to Fresco
Formerly known as Project Gemini, Fresco offers multiple drawing options. From tools to create vector elements to brushes to use new options such as watercolors or oils, use of layers and some additional features. Of course, the most striking is Adobe Sensei, artificial intelligence that gives the application a greater realism when used.
Thanks to this AI, the application is able to simulate in a very realistic way the physics that is generated when using different brushes and pressures, how colors are mixed or how a watercolor stroke is absorbed on a canvas. These details will be what, according to Adobe, will make the difference compared to other drawing tools and experiences.
Drawing with the help of Sensei
This is the main novelty presented by Adobe Fresco because now, using this new program, any artist can paint on an iPad as if it were a canvas, all thanks to the Apple Pencil. The level of detail that Adobe has achieved in this in collaboration with Apple is so great that you can even appreciate the moment in which the watercolors are mixed together.
According to Adobe and to the expert artists and designers who have already tried it, this is the best application an artist can have on iPad, thus Adobe has relied on Sensei the primary task of taking care of every slight detail. Sensei is a new professional intelligence engine, which has served to provide a user experience almost identical to painting a real fresco.
Finally, this new Adobe product will be able to open Photoshop projects and will allow exporting the finished drawings to PDF format, which can also be edited in Illustrator. In short, it is an application that will integrate seamlessly with the other components of the Adobe family.
Still in closed beta
